From part-time “cowboy” (born in Jerome, Arizona) to full-time “Arkie” (since 1943); from Architecture and Planning to Real Estate and semi-retirement. It has been a great ride. The fun part started in 2005 when Charles became a Realtor and member of the Harris McHaney Realtors team.
Charles majored in Architecture at the University of Arkansas (1960-1967), worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Ballistic Missile Construction Office (1962), became Assistant Chief Planner for Cooper Communities in Bella Vista Village (1965-1971) for Bella Vista Village, Hot Springs Village, and other potential developments in Missouri and Virginia. From 1974 to 1985 he worked for the Rogers firm of Perry Butcher & Associates, Architects.
In 1985 Charles moved to Washington, DC, where he was employed as an Architectural Designer, Project Architect, and Office Manager of an Architectural firm. In 1991 Charles temporarily left the Design field and returned to college to study History, Philosophy, and Political Science at the University of the District of Columbia. Charles returned to NW Arkansas and Perry Butcher & Associates in 1996, and remained there until 2005.
Charles has served as a member and Chairman of the Bentonville Planning Commission, member, deacon, elder and building fund treasurer of the Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is currently a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Arkansas Association of Realtors and the Rogers Board of Realtors.
Charles is the proud father of five children, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He enjoys the time he can spend with his widely spread family, traveling, politics, and reading.
“I thoroughly enjoy using my experience in design and construction, estimating and budgeting, and my knowledge of Northwest Arkansas and the Real Estate market to assist both potential buyers and sellers, residential and commercial.”
